The digestive system

Our teeth crunch up the food. When we swallow the tongue puts the food down to our necks. The stomach breaks down the food. When we puke, we can feel soreness in our throats because the acid in our stomach comes up as we are sick.

The stomach contains acid and enzymes that help break the food down even more. Next, the small intestine absorbs minerals and vitamins. The large intestine absorbs the rest of the salt and water and then the food comes out as waste through the rectum.

  1. I really like the way you explained the digestive system at home. You are recalling information very well in your own words and understanding. Well done Kodi and keep up the good work!
